Glen Mills is quiet and peaceful. With Philadelphia, Pennsylvania only 30 minutes away it's also easy to get a taste of the "big city" whenever you'd like—our transportation and special outings make sure of that! And it's easy for friends and family to visit, too.
Glen Mills is part of historical Concord Township. It was part of William Penn's original land grant in 1681. It gets its name from two paper mills built here in the mid-1800's. These mills produced the special paper for the printing of government bonds and notes. The mills are long gone, but the Newlin Grist Mill Park remains from 1704 and is a great place to visit for a picinic.
Wow, what isn't there to do in Glen Mills, Media, and Chadds Ford? Parks such as Ridley Creek, Wawa Preserve, and Tyler Arboretum are great for outdoor spots. History buffs will love the aforementioned Newlin Grist Mill as well as Glen Mills Train Station, and Brandywine Battlefield Park. Fancy some shopping? The Shoppes at Brinton Lake, the Promenade at Granite Run, and Costco and Wegmans are right nearby. And, of course, there's the golf course, the Media Theater for the Performing Arts, and Riddle Hospital as well. Between The Summit AND surrounding Glen Mills you're all set.
